The university consistently ranks 1st in annual independent international rankings organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic. According to the results of the international ranking IAAR EUR - 2021, Osh State University was recognized as the best in the category “IAAR EUR Multidisciplinary University Award” (multidisciplinary university) and was included among the TOP-10 best universities in Eurasia and TOP-5 universities in Central Asia.
In 2022, Osh State University entered the TOP-3 best universities in the Eurasian region.
International medical faculty
History of Teaching Medicine Since 1992
Medical Faculty of Osh State University was established in 1992, taking into account the need to take additional measures for the socio-economic and cultural development of the south of the republic, the growing need of this region for the training of highly qualified specialists and scientific personnel.
In 2015, due to high number of foreign students and to counter international standards, The International Medical Faculty of Osh State University was formed by decision of the Academic Council Order No. 1263 of August 29, 2015. The first dean of the faculty from 2015 to 2016 was appointed and elected candidate of medical sciences Kalmatov Roman Kalmatovich, who made a great contribution to the opening and establishment of the international medical faculty. Under his strict leadership, a new building was commissioned, lecture halls, a computer class, an anatomical museum, video surveillance and more were equipped. Professor. Kalmatov R.K. did a lot of work to develop academic mobility both among students and among teachers.
Today, International Medical Faculty of Osh State University is an advanced and fully equipped faculty and offers modern and huge state of the art infrastructure for medical students.
GOALS :
- Training of highly qualified medical personnel in demand in the labor market for foreign countries and the Kyrgyz Republic, who have the necessary competencies to carry out independent professional and research activities, training in the interests of society the personality of a professional who is competitive, comprehensively educated and capable of self-development.
- Internationalization of national medical education.
- Establishing partnerships with educational institutions of foreign countries, with the aim of implementing inter-university exchanges and contacts, increasing and strengthening the prestige of the university at the international level.
- Entry into the system of the international scientific, information and communication space, as well as into the group of leaders of the main medical educational centers in our region. Education at the faculty is conducted in international English.
