Osh State University, founded in 1939, the largest & the oldest public university of central Asia in southern Kyrgyzstan in the historic city of Osh. 

OSU is a member of the European Association of International Education and International Association of Universities. With 50,000 total students, including 5000 foreign students from Asia & Gulf region; Osh State University has 17 faculties, 1 higher school of international education programs, 2 institutes, 6 colleges of secondary vocational education, 2 academies, 6 schools-gymnasiums, 132 departments, 2 educational centers, 30 educational-methodical, cultural-aesthetic, and resource centers. , 11 hostels, 2 medical clinics, 18 outdoor and indoor sports complexes, boarding house "Umut" in Issyk-Kul, recreation center "Ak-Buura" in Osh, and a student clinic. 

According to the results of the "IAAR Eurasian University Rankings-2021" international rankings, Osh State University was awarded with the nomination "IAAR Eurasian Multidisciplinary University" and was included among the TOP-10 best universities in Eurasia and TOP-5 universities in Central Asia. 

In 2022, Osh State University entered the TOP-3 best universities in the Eurasian space.

Osh State University is recognized globally and listed by WHO, FAIMER, ECFMG, IAAR, NMC, PMDC & BMDC. 

Faculty of Postgraduate Medical Education of OSH State University was established in 2009;

•  33 state licenses were obtained in 33 specialties for the right to conduct educational training in clinical residency and internship.
•  The number of graduating doctors in 2009-2018 is 1150.
• Osh State University is included in 50 universities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
• Osh State University has European EDNET accreditation.
